Congressman Payne is a staunch advocate for safe, affordable, and healthy housing for all Americans.  He has been a Congressional champion to extend the pandemic eviction moratoriums, rental assistance, and mortgage assistance and helped thousands of families recover after the devastating floods from Storm Ida.  The Build Back Better Act contains over $150 billion to improve and expand access to affordable housing, including $25 billion for the construction of low-income housing and $65 billion to repair and improve existing housing.

 

In response to the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Congressman Payne has supported legislation that would authorize a federal eviction moratorium during the public health emergency.
